A Poem By Miss Claudia About Her Canopy Swing
"My Canopy Swing"
I love my canopy swing,
it's so comfortable and light.
It's a wonderful place to site,
early morning, day or night.
(back and forth, back and forth)--
I sip on somethin cool----or hot,
depending on the day,
and admire all the fragrant blooms,
that was planted in late May.
(back and forth, back and forth)--
I watch the neighbors come and go,
and wave as they go by.
The little grandson across the road,
fell while playing, I heard him cry.
(back and forth, back and forth)--
I watch the endless cars and trucks,
that go up and down my road.
I watch the ants and crickets,
and the jumping of a tree-toad.
(back and forth, back and forth)--
I watch the changing clouds,
and the colors of the sky.
I watch the ladened trains of coal,
then watch the planes that fly.
(back and forth, back and forth)--
I watch antique cars and Harley's,
probably going to a meet,
I sit upon my canopy swing,
and fan away the heat.
(back and forth, back and forth)--
When friends come over, we go outside,
and sit upon the swing.
We visit, we joke, we laught,
and we talk about everything.
(back and forth, back and forth)--
My canopy swing protects me,
from sprinkles and the sun.
It gives me a great pleasure,
in fact--it's downright fun!
(back and forth, back and forth)--
When fall arrives, it goes inside,
there's a place just for my wing.
Sheltered from the ice and snow,
it rests and waits for spring.
